CIDETYS has offered training to teachers of the project Digital Schools of SENACYT.   The objective of this project is to support the Ministry of Education of Panama (MEDUCA) in the process of modernization of the the panamanian education, through an ambitious plan that includes providing technological equipment in selected public shools of the country along with a training process to teachers in the use of these technologies.

CIDETYS is offering training on free software tools such as OpenOffice.org and the operating system Edubuntu and its several educational applications. 

CIDETYS has also elaborated for this project a handbook named "Manual de Informática Básica" that includes instructions on how to install OpenOffice.org and guidelines about the use of programs such as Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw.
